Life is a bit like a seesaw, the playground equipment used by children. As with a seesaw, life requires a bit of give and take.
When all the users of a seesaw sit at the same end, nothing happens. To enjoy the ride, it requires people to be on both ends, and it requires the users of each end of the equipment, to participate together, to create the rising and falling action.
In life, relationships between people, even ad hoc relationships, require both the participants to work together to accomplish the desired goals. To each be willing to give up a little of themselves, and to take or accept a little of what is offered.
